Q:  What does counselling involve?

A:  Counselling involves talking freely with a person who is trained in the art of listening so that you can express how you feel in order to begin to find your own unique solutions to problems.  The therapist helps you to accept issues more easily and acknowledge involvement as well as helping you to recognise more clearly how others may have been affecting you.  Counselling provides an opportunity for you to talk safely about your fears and worries.  Alternatives can be explored and weighed up more objectively.  Through counselling, greater understanding of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours emerge.

Q: What might the benefits be?

A: Clients report that attending counselling provides them with more mental freedom, renewed energy, pleasure, life purpose and greater confidence.

Q: What are the attendance requirements?

A: Counselling appointments usually take place once a week/fortnight and last for 50 minutes.   Making this regular commitment gives you a better opportunity to get to the heart of your difficulties.
Progress is reviewed following 6 to 10 sessions.  A client can terminate counselling at any stage.

Q: What does it cost?

A:  The cost per session for individuals is €65.00 and for couples €80.00

Q: Do you work in conjunction with other professional agencies

A:  I accept referrals from agencies such as VHI. HSE, Employee Assistance Wellbeing Programmes, Schools, family GP\'s.
